भूकंप की तीव्रता किससे मापी जाती है
रिक्टर पैमाना (अंग्रेज़ी:Richter magnitude scale) भूकंप की तरंगों की तीव्रता मापने का एक गणितीय पैमाना है। किसी भूकम्प के समय भूमि के कम्पन के अधिकतम आयाम और किसी यादृच्छ (आर्बिट्रेरी) छोटे आयाम के अनुपात के साधारण लघुगणक को 'रिक्टर पैमाना' कहते हैं। रिक्टर पैमाने का विकास 1930 के दशक में किया गया था। 1970 के बाद से भूकम्प की तीव्रता के मापन के लिये रिक्टर पैमाने के स्थान पर 'आघूर्ण परिमाण पैमाना' (Moment Magnitude Scale (MMS)) का उपयोग किया जाने लगा।
'रिक्तर पैमाने' का पूरा नाम रिक्टर परिमाण परीक्षण पैमाना (रिक्टर मैग्नीट्यूड टेस्ट स्केल) है और लघु रूप में इसे स्थानिक परिमाण (लोकल मैग्नीट्यूड) ( ) लिखते हैं।
