समस्थानिक (Isotope) : किसी तत्व के वे परमाणु होते है जिनके परमाणु क्रंमाक तो समान होते है किन्तु परमाणु भार भिन्न भिन्न होते है ,समस्थानिक कहलाते है।
समस्थानिक के उदाहरण :
उपरोक्त उदाहरण कार्बन के समस्थानिक है। जानकारी के लिए बता दे की कार्बन 14 में कुल 8 जवान होते हैं कार्बन 13 में कुल 7 मकान होते हैं और कार्बन 12 में कुल 6 न्यूटन होते हैं।
