1947 में महिलाओं और ग्रामीण आबादी की नगण्य भागीदारी के साथ देश की साक्षरता दर (Latest Litracy Rate In India) केवल 12.7 फीसदी थी। जबकि राष्ट्रीय सांख्यिकी आयोग (NSO) की रिपोर्ट के अनुसार साल 2017-18 में देश की साक्षरता दर बढ़कर 77.7 फीसदी हो गई है।
