कहा जाता है कि मुमताज़ महल ने मरते वक्त मकबरा बनाए जाने की ख्वाहिश जताई थी जसके बाद शाहजहां ने ताजमहन बनावाया। ताजमहल को सफेद संगमरमर से बनवाया गया है।
