ग्रंथि के प्रकार
ग्रंथियां दो प्रकार की होती हैं–.
क) बहिस्रावी ग्रंथियां
ख) अंतःस्रावी ग्रंथियां (Endocrine glands).
बहि स्रावी ग्रंथियां वैसी ग्रंथियों को कहते हैं जो वाहिनी में पदार्थ स्रावित करती हैं। उदाहरण के लिए लार ग्रंथि लार वाहिनी में लार स्रावित करती है।
अंतःस्रावी ग्रंथियां वे होती हैं जो सीधे रक्त में अपना पदार्थ स्रावित करती हैं। अंतः स्रावि ग्रंथियों में कोई नलिका नहीं होती। अंतःस्रावी ग्रंथि द्वारा स्रावित होने वाला पदार्थ हार्मोन कहलाता है।
