बही खाता लिखने का कार्य
खाता-बही या लेजर (ledger) उस मुख्य बही (पुस्तक) को कहते हैं जिसमें पैसे के लेन-देन का हिसाब रखा जाता है। आजकल यह कम्पयूटर-फाइल के रूप में भी होती है। खाता बही में सभी लेन-देन को खाता के अनुसार लिखा जाता है जिसमें डेबित और क्रेडित के के दो अलग-अलग कॉलम होते हैं।[

एक कम्पनी ने 100 वाले रिऋ पत्र के हजार प्रतिशत ऋण पत्र निर्गमित किये इन ऋण पत्रो पर रुपए के साथ 20 रुपए आवंटन पर 40 रुपए प्रथम मंग पर तथा दुतीय याचना पर 30 रुपए प्रती ऋण पत्र दे थे सभी ऋण पत्र क्रय कर लिये गये और उन पर समय पर भुगतान भी प्रप्त हो गया
