भारत की सबसे पहली फिल्म का नाम है
आलमआरा (विश्व की रौशनी) 1931 में बनी हिन्दी भाषा और भारत की पहली सवाक (बोलती) फिल्म है। इस फिल्म के निर्देशक अर्देशिर ईरानी हैं। ईरानी ने सिनेमा में ध्वनि के महत्व को समझते हुये, आलमआरा को और कई समकालीन सवाक फिल्मों से पहले पूरा किया। आलम आरा का प्रथम प्रदर्शन मुंबई (तब बंबई) के मैजेस्टिक सिनेमा में 14 मार्च 1931 को हुआ था। यह पहली भारतीय सवाक इतनी लोकप्रिय हुई कि "पुलिस को भीड़ पर नियंत्रण करने के लिए सहायता बुलानी पड़ी थी"।
