महाभारत पर्वत श्रेणी
मध्य हिमालय महान हिमालय के दक्षिण में स्थित है। महान हिमालय और मध्य हिमालय के बीच दो बड़ी और खुली घाटियाँ पायी जाती है - पश्चिम में काश्मीर घाटी और पूर्व में काठमाण्डू घाटी। जम्मू-कश्मीर में इसे पीर पंजाल, हिमाचल में धौलाधार तथा नेपाल में महाभारत श्रेणी के रूप में जाना जाता है।
