आपकी बेहतर जानकारी के लिए बता दे की संवैधानिक प्रावधानों के मुताबिक राष्ट्रपति जब तक चाहें राज्यपाल अपने पद पर बने रह सकते हैं, लेकिन कैबिनेट की सलाह से अगर राज्यपाल को हटाया भी जाता है तो उसके लिए ठोस वजह होनी जरूरी है। राज्यपाल का पद संवैधानिक है और उनकी नियुक्ति संवैधानिक नियुक्ति है।
राष्ट्रपति राज्यपाल की नियुक्ति करते हैं और यही वजह है कि राज्यपाल अपना इस्तीफा भी राष्ट्रपति के पास भेजते हैं। कैबिनेट की सलाह पर ही राज्यपाल का चयन होता है और फिर उनकी नियुक्ति होती है। राज्यपाल राष्ट्रपति के प्रसादपर्यंत कार्य करता है, इसकी कारण राज्यपाल को हटाने के लिए राष्ट्रपति को किसी की सलाह की आवश्यकता नहीं होती है।
