प्याज से निकलने वाली गैस
प्याज में एमीनो एसिड सल्फॉक्साइड और सल्फेनिक एसिड नाम के केमिकल होते हैं जो मिलकर प्रोपैनथियॉल एस-ऑक्साइड बनाते हैं. इस कंपाउंड की तीखी भाप के कारण हमारे आंखों में जलन पैदा हो जाती है. हमारी आंखों की एक अच्छी खूबी यह है कि इसमें अगर कोई बाहरी तत्व आ जाता है तो यह आंसू निकालकर उसे धोने का प्रयास करती है.
