गलनांक तथा क्वथनांक पर दाब का प्रभाव पड़ता है.

दाब (pessure): किसी सतह के एकांक क्षेत्रफल पर लगने वाले बल को दाब कहते हैं यानी कि

दाब(P) = F/A = पृष्ठ के लंबवत बल/पृष्ठ का क्षेत्रफल

दाब का S.I. मात्रक N / m^2 होता है, जिसे पास्कल (Pa) भी कहते हैं. दाब एक अदिश राशि है.
