Eligibility Post Wise-
Ophthalmologist: MS/DNB in Ophthalmology or Diploma (DOMS/DO) from a recognized institution. Qualification must be registered with Bihar Medical Council, MCI, or NMC.
Psychiatrist: MD/DNB in Psychiatry from a recognized institution, registered with Bihar Medical Council, MCI, or NMC.
Dermatologist: MD/DNB in Dermatology or Diploma (DVD); MD/DNB holders preferred. Registration with Bihar Medical Council, MCI, or NMC mandatory.
ENT Surgeon: MS/DNB in ENT or DLO Diploma; MS/DNB preferred. Must be registered with relevant medical councils.
Anaesthetist: MD/DNB in Anaesthesia or DA Diploma from recognized institutions, with registration under Bihar Medical Council, MCI, or NMC.

Selection Process Details-
In the Selection Process for SHSB Specialist Doctor Recruitment 2026 will be completed on the following phases:
1. Merit Calculation-
Marks total 100: MBBS percentage multiplied by 0.60 (up to 60 marks); add 40 flat marks for MD/MS/DNB or 30 flat marks for Diploma. Category-wise merit lists are prepared using cutoff date January 1, 2026. Ties resolved by age (older candidate preferred), then higher qualification, then alphabetical order from 10th certificate names.
2. DV-
Shortlisted candidates attend verification in February 2026 second week with originals: application printout, photo, ID, educational certificates, registration, reservation proofs. No extra time given for missing documents.
3. Final Selection-
Post-verification merit list leads to counseling for district postings based on merit, choice, and vacancies. Appointments are contractual for 11 months.
