Clerk: Graduate degree with computer and typing knowledge, and knowledge of English/Marathi language.

Peon: 10th pass.

Driver: 10th pass with valid driving licence and experience.

Stenographer: Graduate with required shorthand (steno) and typing speed.

Bombay High Court Recruitment 2025 Selection Process-

In the Selection Process for Bombay High Court Vacancy 2025 will be completed on the following phases:

For Clerk Post-

A. Screening (Written) Test-

• Mode: Objective (MCQ) offline/online (as decided).

• Duration: 1 hour.

• Total marks: 90.

B. Typing Test (English)-

• Passage: 400 words in English.

• Time: 10 minutes.

• Mode: On computer.

• Total marks: 20, minimum qualifying marks: 10.

• This test checks both speed and accuracy.

C. Viva‑Voce / Interview-

• Purpose: To judge communication, personality, suitability for office work, and general awareness.

• Marks: Around 40 (example pattern: 40 marks, with no fixed minimum mentioned but higher score improves merit).

D. Final Merit-

Only candidates who qualify Screening and Typing are called for Interview. Final select list is prepared based on combined marks of Screening Test, Typing Test and Interview, subject to document verification and medical fitness.

For Peon / Hamal / Farash Post-

A. Written Examination-

• Marks: Around 30 marks (objective questions).

• Minimum qualifying marks: about 15 (50%).

• Questions are usually very basic: language (Marathi), simple maths and general awareness (as per notification).

B. Physical Ability / Special Qualification (if specified)-

• Marks: Around 10 marks, may include:

• Lifting/Carrying files or weight tests.

• Experience in similar work or special skills.

C. Interview-

• Marks: Around 10 marks.

• Checks behaviour, basic communication and understanding of duties.

D. Final Merit for Peon-

• Combined marks of Written Exam + Physical Ability/Special Qualification + Interview. Then document verification and medical test.

For Stenographer Post-

A. Shorthand Test (Part I)-

Steno Lower Grade:

• Dictation: 400‑word English passage in about 5 minutes.

• Transcription: 25 minutes.

• Marks: 40.

Steno Higher Grade:

• Dictation: 500‑word English passage in about 5 minutes.

• Transcription: 30 minutes.

• Marks: 40.

B. Typing Test (Part II)-

• Passage: 400 words in English.

• Time: 10 minutes.

• Marks: 40.

C. Viva‑Voce / Interview (Part III)-

• Marks: 20.

• Candidates are tested for language fluency, office behaviour, and legal office suitability.

D. Final Merit-

Merit list is prepared based on total marks in Shorthand Test (40) + Typing Test (40) + Viva‑voce (20) = 100 marks. Only candidates who pass shorthand and typing tests are eligible for interview and final selection.
